5 MINUTES WITH RACHEL CHINOURIRI’S STYLIST
By Symone Keisha, 24 April 2025
If you don’t already know Rachel Chinouriri, it’s time to add her to your radar! The two-time Brit-nominated artist has opened for Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet tour *and* she has her own set of shows on the way. What we love most about the indie-pop sensation? Her style is just as incredible as her sound – and we have her stylist Shannon Kelsey Ann to thank for that. Keep scrolling for serious style serves and a chat with Shannon as she preps for Rachel’s upcoming North America tour.

With brands like adidas and Converse on her roster, you know Shannon’s styling expertise is major. So, it comes as no surprise that Rachel’s red carpet and on-stage looks are always making heads turn. Whether it’s a printed co-ord for a tour look or a look-at-me dress for an event, you can always expect bold colours, Y2K details and feel-good statements.

It was late summer 2022.
And what was the first look you styled with her?
One of my first favourite looks for Rachel was her look for her track The Hills. It was Barbie-core with some edge.
Can you sum up Rachel’s style in 3 words?
Indie pop princess.

Tell us a little about the collaboration process.
It's fun, trusting and collaborative.
How do you bring Rachel’s personality into her looks on-stage and on the red carpet?
Fashion isn’t about being perfect, it’s about having fun and finding what makes you feel good. Whether it’s an iconic reference or something a bit unexpected, I try to reflect Rachel more than chase trends.

'The goal is always to make her feel like the best version of herself, not a version of someone else.'
You’ve styled some super nostalgic Y2K moments, which has been your fave?
Probably when I pulled looks for Rachel and Florence Pugh for Rachel’s Never Need Me track – we ended up recreating that iconic Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss shot. Fun fact: it was never intentionally styled as a throwback, it just ended up looking that way.
What looks can we expect to see on Rachel’s North American tour?
More Bratz doll energy, with lots of sparkle.
