STYLE FILE: KEKE PALMER
By Ayis Stephen-Diver, 10 March 2025
Keke Palmer needs no introduction, but if we must: she's a singer, TV personality, podcast host and mother (in more ways than one) by trade, but she has another talent – always serving. With the release of her new film One Of Them Days with SZA and the sensational fashion run she’s been on lately, it's the perfect time to take deep dive into her ever-evolving style. Scroll for four *more* reasons to become obsessed with her.

#1: SHE REFERENCES SO TASTEFULLY
We're accustomed to referential looks on the red carpet, but Keke does things with a fresh take. Her 2025 SAG Awards look was archival Chanel worn by Jamie Lee Curtis in 1986, but rather than a direct reference, she changed things up with a red lip and a voluminous red bob. And of course we’re shouting out her iconic Tom Ford tuxedo at the 2024 NAACP Awards too. Complete with a cummerbund and rose on the lapel, she’s inspiring us to go that extra mile with our own tailoring.

#2: SHE’S NOT AFRAID TO PLAY WITH TEXTURES
Old Hollywood isn’t the only era Keke pays homage to. She took a page out of 2000s red-carpet history in this ivory SS04 Versace dress – previously worn by Christina Aguilera and Donatella Versace herself. With a sheer Swarovski-crystal bodice and a silky asymmetric skirt, the different textures were a breath of fresh air.

#3: HER STYLE ISN’T CONFINED TO THE SEASON
Famous for her unmatched charisma and natural humour, it makes sense that Keke’s fashion choices complement her personality rather than the season. Whether it’s winter or spring, you’ll catch her in vibrant colours like pink and orange, bold plaids and obnoxious faux furs – because why not? This unapologetic, always-authentic approach to fashion is something we can all take notes from.

#4: YOU CAN ALWAYSCOUNT ON HER TO ACCESSORISE
One thing about Keke? She’s never the topic of the #bringbackjewelleryontheredcarpet movement. No matter the occasion, she understands a statement necklace, bracelet or earrings can complete a formal ‘fit. Just look to exhibit A for proof – the Balmain halter-neck dress she wore to the SNL50 after-party was instantly elevated with help from large transparent drop earrings and a perfect beat.
