SPRING'S HOTTEST HUE? BUTTER YELLOW
By Hannah Blincko, 3 March 2025
Back in September, the SS25 runways were spread with a brand-new hue. The likes of Toteme, Chanel and Chloé featured head-to-toe butter yellow, ushering out brat green and serving a new kid on the colour block. So as the days get brighter and (dare we whisper) warmer, we’re relying on this soft-sunshine shade to be the bread and butter of our new-season ‘fit checks.

Not one to miss a beat, Rihanna stepped out during London SS25 fashion week in a custom Jacquemus butter-yellow bathrobe coat. We're always taking notes from RiRi, but who's to say you can't go a *little* more casual?

If butter won't cut it, look to lemony sweet treats as your food muse. Think lemon mochi, lemon posset or anything limoncello for the ideal garden cocktail dress.

In case you're looking at pale yellow and feeling stumped about how to style it, don't be afraid to mix and match with bolder tones. Turning to preppy standouts like this adidas zip-up adds edge to the femme-leaning energy of a butter-yellow skirt.

A great rule when keeping it cosy is choosing loungewear in unexpected colourways. Your grey trackpants have nothing on this brighter butter shade.
