STEAL TATE MCRAE'S Y2K OUTFIT FORMULA WITH THESE SIMPLE STEPS

As far as pop stars go, Tate McRae has it ALL. Fresh off the drop of her third studio album So Close To What, Tate has been giving us banger after banger. When she’s not singing addictive hits like It’s ok I’m ok and Sports Car, or giving us a quick 5, 6, 7, 8 courtesy of her choreographer Sean Bankhead, she’s serving looks. Big Y2K looks to be exact. #1: RECREATE AN ICONIC LOOK

If you think you recognise this 'fit, it's because you do. Tate took inspo from the OG queen of pop Britney Spears and her 2001 VMA's look for this one. The barely there dress and a red carpet go hand in hand in the celebrity world – especially this awards season – and all you need to steal the look is a sheer dress, some matching underwear or a slip dress for more coverage, and some heels.

#2: GO FOR SIMPLE SILHOUETTES

Another black dress for McRae, this time on British soil for The BRIT Awards. It may be covered head-to-toe in sequins, but the silhouette is super clean and minimal, leaving us to focus on the statement jewellery. OTT necklaces and statement rings really hit our sweet spot and Tate is bringing it.

Speaking of accessories, Tate does it again. Denim and a basic tee have the winning formula with stacked necklaces and bracelets, a vintage handbag and a chunky belt. More is more when it comes to Y2K styling – try layering your jewellery like Tate but keeping the 'fit stripped back to keep things refined.

When celebrities want to go incognito, oversized everything is their uniform of choice. Queen of accessories Tate gives hers an instant boost with colour-pop sneakers and glasses. What a combo. We love the colour block layering of her hoodie and jacket, too. This one gets the Greenlight.
