Denim, you will always be famous. We're regularly looking for ways to spice up the hardest-working item in our wardrobe, and just when you thought you'd seen every denim iteration, in comes The Sourced Collection. The brand is known for its signature reworked jeans that come in all sorts of colours, patterns and fabrications, and now you can shop them on ASOS. Ahead of the brand's launch, we sat down with founder Lois Smith to get some party-season dressing tips just in time for New Year's.

FUN FACT: The Sourced Collection took off much quicker than I expected. I had no choice but to enlist my family and friends (incl. Sophie who was about to go into labour!) to help fulfil my orders. That support will never be forgotten.

Hiya Lois! What inspired you to start The Sourced Collection?
It was created off the back of my luxury personal-shopper business which soon evolved into styling. I then began to design one-off pieces for clients and from there the product line developed. I wanted to offer people high-quality items that would empower them.

What's the story behind one of your most-popular pieces?
I’ve always worked with vintage Levi's because I love the fit and style, but I wanted to upcycle it somehow. One day, I was ripping jeans to create a more worn look, I grabbed a swatch of embellished fabric and put it behind the hole I had created – I knew I was onto something! The Disco Denim was born and it is still one of my bestselling items.

Biggest moment for your brand to date?
Rochelle Humes has always been a huge supporter and lover of what we do. She styled the Disco denim on Instagram and needless to say we had to work day and night to keep up with the orders!

Now, let’s talk styling! What party-season trends are you loving right now?
A burgundy colour palette, lace, embellishment and co-ords.

Any pieces you'd recommend for a New Year's Eve party?
A lace top with a puffed sleeve paired with tailored trousers or hot pants with tights. For the more cool-girl look, I would go with the Disco Denim jeans and a mesh black corset.

Nice. How can we style this drop beyond party season?
The pieces are all so versatile. The cropped tee could be paired with blue denim and trainers for an effortless-daytime look. Then you could easily add the corset over the top of the tee and a pair of heels for the evening.

What’s next for the brand?
We’re already working on our SS25 collection and we can't wait to share it with you all! Think neutrals, soft linens, tailored looks and casual styles.
