EM RATA'S FAVOURITE TRAINERS HAVE LANDED ON ASOS – HERE'S HOW TO STYLE THEM

Emily Ratajkowski is always on our style moodboard, and ever since we saw her wearing these trainers in spring we've been waiting for them to hard launch. We are, of course, talking about the PUMA Speedcat. Already dubbed the sneaker of 2025, the Speedcat is a turn-of-the-millennium silhouette with the same low-profile design as the adidas Samba – the trainer that’s ruled the streets since 2021. Is its reign over? We don’t know. But here’s a style argument *for* the PUMA Speedcat, courtesy of Em Rata.

The PUMA Speedcat may have similarities to the Samba, but its silhouette takes cues from styles worn by 80s and 90s Grand Prix drivers, as opposed to the terrace origins of adidas’ iconic trainers. The universal rise of F1 this year alone will no doubt help catapult the Speedcat to new levels of trend-dom.

We first noticed the Speedcat infiltrating our socials in spring – Em Rata was seen wearing a pair in April, before they were re-released – and they’ve been slowly gaining popularity ever since. Celebrity endorsements help of course, and then they were spotted in the SS25 shows of Ahluwalia and Feben – proof that they’re approved by the ones setting the trends.

Emily is the queen of casual style, and this look proves it. Slip on the Speedcats with your favourite baggy denim and throw on a blanket-like coat for warmth and aura points.
