MEET YOUR SKI-SEASON ESSENTIALS
By Emma Strawbridge, 25 November 2024
Planning a winter getaway to the slopes? Good news – our new skiwear edit just dropped. Whether you’re staying in Europe or going somewhere further afield, it’s going to be *cold* out there. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered for all motives with off-piste-ready thermals and cosy knits perfect for an apres-ski hot chocolate. Let us do the packing for you.
THE BASE LAYERS
Thermals are one of the most important pieces for a day on the slopes – you need to stay warm and these soft jersey basics from ASOS 4505 are the way to do it. Plus, the seamless design means ultimate comfort when you’re on the move all day.
THE MID LAYERS
Don’t sleep on the mid layers. Stocking up on fleeces like these from The North Face and Columbia is key. The quarter-zip designs make them super easy to pull on and off if you get too hot or cold, there's pockets, and the funnel neck will protect against chafing and the cold (obvs). Choose your fighter.
THE OUTER LAYERS
Columbia got the memo that ski season is here. These Bagaboo II trousers have taped seams to keep you dry and have gaiters at the hem to fit your boots comfortably underneath. The Snowqualmie II jacket is made from a water-repellent fabric and the fill is designed to be insulating *and* lightweight – the best combo you could want for those off-piste activities.
THE APRES-SKI FAVES
Now, on to the fun stuff – knitwear! Nothing says ‘I just spent a whole day skiing and now I’m going to sit by the fire and eat fondue’ like a patterned knit (especially one that literally says ‘ski’). The faux-fur headband speaks for itself – it’s a need.
THE ACCESSORIES
Do you know what we love? Accessories that are practical but also bring the vibes. These snow boots are everything – warm, stylish and can double as slippers when you’re back in the UK. And let’s not forget about the basics. Hats and gloves are a no-brainer.
