FASHION
RED CARPET REPORT: MTV VMAS EDITION
By Style Feed Staff, 11 September 2024
The dog days of summer have come and gone, and autumn is officially in the air. Saying bye to the beach is never easy, but the return of Fashion Month and red carpets is the sweetest salve. First up? The MTV VMAs, of course. Live from New York, it's Wednesday night... so keep scrolling to see the best 'fits from Taylor, Sabrina and more. Oh, and don't forget to take notes ahead of party season (it's never too early).

SABRINA CARPENTER
She's working late, 'cause she's a singer... and rocking an iconic gown in the process. SC collected her trophies in a vintage Bob Mackie frock that may be familiar to celeb style-spotters: Madonna wore it to the 1991 Oscars. Yes, the OG Material Girl. The blingy beauty fits flawlessly with Sabrina's signature hyper-femme aesthetic, and as usual, her bombshell blonde locks were the cherry on top.

CHAPPELL ROAN
Your favourite artist's favourite artist (who casually snagged the Best New Artist Moon Person) left the cowboy-core get-ups at the Pink Pony Club and served medieval realness. Hitting the carpet in a sleek sheer maxi dress from Y/Project, the chanteuse amped the ensemble up in a cape, arm guards, chunky jewels metallic mega-nails and a sword (seriously). This Midwest Princess just keeps on rising, and we're so here for it.

LISA
BLACKPINK sensation Lisa always delivers when a formal fête is on the calendar, and tonight was no exception. In anticipation of her rousing rendition of new single Rockstar, she certainly looked the part in a major Mugler gown complete with a corseted bodice, attached gloves and an eye-catching veil.

MEGAN THEE STALLION
As the show's hostess with the mostess, the Hot Girl Coach brought out a twist on a classic mermaid silhouette. Her first flex of the night (and FYI, there were many) linked up a bold black corset top, a sheer skirt and a dramatic, voluminous train on the bottom. Meg will forever be that girl, and she just reminded the world why.

TYLA
A devoted fan of baby tees, low-rise mini skirts and other Y2K staples, Tyla nailed the early aughts vibe courtesy of her fresh-off-the-runway dress from luxe label Area. The mellow yellow piece was made from neon string and allowed for a peekaboo bikini moment. And just when you thought it couldn't get any cooler, the belly ring and turquoise jewellery solidified this as a next-level smash.

TAYLOR SWIFT
The second Taylor stepped out on the red carpet, Swifties proclaimed her attire Reputation-coded from head to toe. The yellow plaid look by way of Dior was accessorised with leather gloves and over-the-knee boots ('tis finally the season), proving that the influence of Cher Horowitz is still a win in 2024.
