Topshop Callie leather loafer in black and white, £48
#1. LOAFERS
They’re the uniform of off-duty models like Kendall and the Hadids, and they're still dominating the runways (Miu Miu and Gucci, we’re looking at you). So how are we wearing loafers this season? A sock moment is still on top – the brighter, the better – but as streamlined denim makes a return, we’re loving them with slim-leg jeans for an everyday, polished look.

Glamorous mesh ballet flats in black, £26
#2. BALLET FLATS
Whether you love them or love to hate them, ballet flats are here to stay. This autumn, we're taking cues from Jennifer Lawrence and opting for the mesh variety. On days when there's not *too* much of a chill or nights when you simply can't with a heel, make these your go-to pair.

adidas Originals Taekwondo trainers in white, £80
#3. ADIDAS TAEKWONDO
If there's a fresh shoe vying for the Samba's throne, it's the adidas Taekwondo. As the name suggests, these low-profile 00s sneaks were originally made for martial arts, but now they've been revived just in time for autumn's hyper-femme silhouettes and terracecore 'fits.

ALDO Wide leg Satori stretch knee boots in brown leather, £150
#4. KNEE-HIGH BOOTS
If autumn were a shoe, it would be a knee-high boot. This season, we're opting for block-heel styles with a wider calf, so they'll look just as good with a skirt as they will over skinny jeans. Chocolate brown is a great alternative for black – softer, and very autumnal.

Clarks Torhill Moss in brown, £110
#5. CLARKS TORHILL
The return of the Clarks Wallabee is upon us, so meet its cooler platform cousin, the Torhill? Suede is high on the agenda in AW24 – just ask all the girlies pictured at Copenhagen Fashion Week earlier this month – so that makes these shoes two trends in one. Style them with wide-leg denim for an easy, autumn win.
