WE CHAT WITH MILLIE COURT

Coming back to your old workplace after winning a reality TV show – it might sound surreal, but for Love Island's Millie Court it’s her reality 🤩 ICYDK, she worked in the ASOS buying team for three years – and now, she’s been spotted around our HQ again 👀 Why? Well... *drum roll* Millie and ASOS are teaming up for some very exciting projects, including her Style Edit (available here!) PLUS her own ASOS DESIGN collection for spring/summer '22! To get the lowdown, we sat down with our fave islander to chat about life after the show and her return to ASOS...

How does it feel to be working with ASOS again?! 🎉
To be honest, it feels like I'm back home – it makes me feel warm inside, because ASOS was my world. It was my first ever buying role, so leaving a few months ago to go on the show was definitely a sad time. It’s so nice that I can come back, obviously in a different way, but still work with my favourite brand ever.

What can we expect from your Style Edit?
I kind of wanted to do a mixture of everything really, because I don't tend to stick to one certain style. I like to mix it up and experiment, so we've got some winter coats – some very loud ones – some party dresses that are very glitzy, very glam, but also some that aren't as statement, so you can do a day-to-night situation, too. We have knitwear, jeans, tops... basically every category you can think of!

 

What’s it like to be building your very own spring/summer collection, too?
To have my own collection with ASOS and be involved in the whole process from design to the end product is something I've always dreamed of. I want to be able to make something for everyone and make it a fully inclusive collection. It's so exciting – just a dream come true!

What kind of pieces do you hope to include in it?
As it's a summer collection, hopefully some really nice dresses, the perfect jean shorts and cutesy tops. And because I want to include day and night looks (and because I love a tailored suit), maybe a summer pastel suit, too!

 

How have things changed since the show?
Obviously, life has just really changed. I've realised how important it is to have your friends and family close. Coming out and seeing the papers and people's opinions, I think everyone could see I was genuine in there and just really normal. I love to laugh, I love a drink – I'm a true Essex girl and I think people could see that. So, no matter what happens, I just want to make sure that Essex is still inside me, that I stay true to myself and just enjoy what is happening at the moment!
