INSPIRATION AND ADVICE
MEET THE STARS OF OUR NIKE CRATER IMPACT SHOOT
By ASOS, 22 April 2021
ICYDK, Nike’s new Move To Zero collection pairs innovative processes and recycled materials with game-changing good looks. Putting this sleek range through its paces are six style-savvy talents who are all taking steps towards a more responsible lifestyle. To get to know them all better, we asked one of the crew, Venice, to quiz the rest on the collection and get their top tips for making more sustainable choices.

Venice, model
'Hey everyone, I’m excited to intro the Move To Zero team! But firstly, here’s a bit about me: I’m Venice (@venice.jpg), I’m 24, and I’ve recently started modelling – it took a long time before I had enough confidence to seize the opportunity and say yes to an agent. My fave pick from the collection is the Nike Earth Day tank top in off-white. I’ve tried to take a bunch of steps towards a greener lifestyle: I’ve cut down on meat and I keep a bag for life in my handbag, ALWAYS. I also bring my own cup with me to the coffee shop; it’s better for the environment, plus you get discounts – what’s not to love?!'

Jasmine, MA Student
When it comes to fashion, Jasmine (@gingerbeerisking) – who's a big fan of the Nike Earth Day maxi dress – has a few hacks to share for more responsible living: ‘I consciously think about everything I buy, and ask myself, “Do I really need this?”.’ Currently pulling a double shift working on an MA in neuroscience and philosophy, as well as advancing her modelling career, 22-year-old Jasmine also recommends upcycling as a way to cut down on carbon emissions.

Oscar, artist + chef
A big believer in more sustainable ways of living, multi-talented 21-year-old Oscar (@jjiggr) walks the walk in his day-to-day, too. ‘As well as working in a vegan restaurant, I don’t buy meat or milk,’ he says, adding that his fave responsible style hack is upcycling jewellery from can ring-pulls. When he’s not busy styling out his fave Nike Revival shorts in dusty teal, Oscar splits his time between making art across various mediums and his side-hustle as a chef.

Henry, medical student + ASOS Marketplace seller
Choosing the Nike Crater Impacts for the shoot, 25-year-old Henry is an upcycling pro, having previously sold old furniture online. His top tips for responsible living? ‘Learn to sew and rework old items, and turn your tired old trousers into shorts. Oh, and buy vintage!’ Sold! Turning up to the shoot fresh from an exam (casual!), Henry’s just wrapped up his medicine degree. He also heads up HMS Vintage (@hmsvintage) on ASOS Marketplace, and all his packaging and flyers are compostable – impressive!

Kai Ren Tang, model
Flying the flag for a greener future, 27-year-old Kai (@tang.tangtangtang) says, ‘I’m trying to give up certain foods that are unsustainably produced, including fish, as well as avoiding single-use plastics. He made his modelling breakthrough on our Nike HO20 campaign last year, and has never looked back, signing his first professional contract shortly after. Beyond that, he loves to paint and it’s his eye for design that drew him to Nike’s Revival graphic-print T-shirt.

Florence Rose, content creator
23-year-old Florence is a passionate upcycler. ‘My top tip is to customise old fashion pieces. They’re always the most sentimental and get the most compliments!’ A modelling regular for ASOS, she also studies film and creates her own content (find her on Insta @florenceros.e). She picked out the pastel-striped Earth Day knitted jacket, teaming it with the Crater Impacts.
