PUMA x Careaux’s state-of-the-art collab

After hitting it off last year with their debut collection, PUMA and Dutch digital art extraordinaire Careaux have teamed up once again for a fresh collaboration that fuses street style with fanciful graphics. Feast your eyes on Looped’s favourite from this sophomore sneaker capsule: the Basket Strap.

Careaux, aka Caroll Lynn, first caught the eyes of the sneaker scene when she started applying her signature geometric patterns to illustrations of iconic kicks. Her digital renderings of the game’s hottest creps became a huge hit – 63,000 Instagram followers don’t lie. But it was her floral designs – inspired by and dedicated to her closest friends and family – which formed the basis of Careaux’s first collection with PUMA.

For her sophomore season, she turns her eye outwards, devoting her latest designs to those who dream, and taking inspo from her travels through Asia and Sydney – giving us serious wanderlust in the process. The PUMA Basket loses its laces in place of three velcro straps, and all three shades of suede feature an icy, translucent sole with Careaux’s signature golden flower motif embossed on the heel.

Go white in the ‘Whisper’ colourway, aka your new go-to for anything involving the weekend – a relaxed chino and plaid shirt are the perfect pairings. The ‘Halogen Blue’ will get you through the 9-5 and straight to the bar (think a raw-hem hoodie and wide-leg checked trousers). Or there’s the ‘PUMA Black’, which promises to complement just about any ‘fit you’re feeling.
