We’ve hit mid-October, and you know what that means... Halloween is just around the corner. While we love a classic ode to witches and pumpkins, we can’t help but take inspo from some of the biggest pop-culture moments of the year. Why? Because the looks have been eating, and who doesn’t want the chance to be Beyoncé for the night? Scroll for alll the costume ideas ft. Starting off strong with this Short n’ Sweet queen, a Sabrina Carpenter costume is this year’s answer to Barbie. Sabrina’s had a phenomenal year – from opening for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour to Espresso’s chart-topping status and her first ever arena tour, and don’t forget the looks to match. BEYONCÉ

Beyoncé, gave us everything and more this year. Cowboy Carter is a country-music masterclass and so are the looks we’ve been served in the process. From *that* Grammys look to the album artwork, there’s plenty of Beyoncé costume inspo to be had. Here’s what we would go for: an embellished denim co-ord, sequin cowboy boots and plenty of western-inspired accessories. Oh, and don't forget that blonde wig.

MOO DENG

That’s right, everyone’s favorite baby hippo is the perfect Halloween costume idea, and it’s so simple. If you don’t know, Moo Deng (a pygmy hippo from Thailand) went viral after her handler started posting her on socials and everyone fell in love. Her flushed pink cheeks have started a TikTok trend for ‘Moo Deng blush' – so why not recreate this with a glass-skin beat and wet-look hair. And if you're just chilling this Halloween (we suspect Moo Deng will be doing the same), opt for a tonal gray tracksuit and soft pink accents.

From the star-studded cast to Jenna Ortega’s on-point press-tour looks, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice hit headlines for more than just its movie reviews this year. And the spooky looks fit perfectly for Halloween. Channel Jenna's character, Astrid, with a school uniform-inspired costume ft. a blazer, tartan skirt and loafers. Coincidentally, the preppy aesthetic is trending for FW24, so is it even really a costume? P.S. Jenna took inspo from Winona Ryder's look from the OG film for this press tour look.

Back to the pop girlies who’ve been giving all year long – we couldn’t forget about our H-O-T-T-O-G-O fave. Known for her campy aesthetic and drag beat, there’s almost too many Chappell Roan outfits to choose from. Our top two have to be the western-inspired Pink Pony Club look and her knight in shining armor VMAs stage 'fit – iconic.
