Converse just dropped a deadly new Chuck 70s duo, shedding its classic canvas skin in favour of fresh reptilian patterning. Slither forward, the Snake Pack. To celebrate, we’ve hooked up with four of our favourite (and most fashionable) people to talk Chucks and style up this lethal new release.

When we say Chucks, what comes to mind?

Creativity. I like that the minimal design leaves plenty of room for creative customisation. I will definitely paint a pair in the future.

What makes the Chuck a standout shoe?

I like trying out new looks, from wearing massive puffer jackets and painting my own clothes to more tailored looks – and Chucks adapt each time. They go with every style.

Tell us your favourite Chuck memory?

When I was a kid and I loved this basketball game called NBA Street, the main character was my favourite and wore Chucks. From that moment on, I wanted a pair… and a basketball!

Individuality and versatility. A shoe that can reflect every aspect of my individual style and can be worn for any occasion.

What makes the Chuck a standout shoe?

They easily blur the lines between masculinity and femininity, allowing me to express my sometimes androgynous fashion sense with ease.

Tell us your favourite Chuck memory?

I got my first pair at a car boot sale in Battersea for £2 and years later they're still my favourite washed-out salmon-coloured babies. I love how they can be recycled through generations and the more battered they get, the better.

When we say Chucks, what comes to mind?

Chucks are a classic, you can be six or 60 and they look good. They're the kind of shoe that can take you everywhere – they'll get pretty battered but they're difficult to let go of. The Chuck 70 does this best with a solid shape that I hope isn't changing anytime soon.

What makes the Chuck a standout shoe?

They're one of those rare shoes that look good both fresh out the box and a year down the line – splattered in paint, ripped, anything. I guess that's why they suit my style because they're versatile and never look out of place.

Tell us your favourite Chuck memory?

Converse was the first brand I worked with on a Goma project, so I'll always have a bit of loyalty to them. I remember getting my first pair of Parchment 70s – they went everywhere with me. They ended up getting super worn down and now my dad wears them!
