The latest drop to land at Looped is a project that’s seriously close to ASOS HQ hearts. Bringing together two unmistakeable aesthetics, feast your eyes on the Reebok Classic x ASOS WHITE collection.
Footwear collaborations can be a tricky affair in 2017. With new drops touching down every weekend — featuring colorways and materials based on obscure folk tales or remarkable meteorological conditions — it’s easy to lose sight of the point of it all. Taking it back to the true meaning of collaboration, ASOS WHITE has teamed up with Reebok Classic to bring its favorite designs to life across seven shoes.
Each sneaker is themed around some of the standout ASOS WHITE pieces from seasons past, making for unusual and elegant executions of Reebok’s finest retro kicks. There’s broderie anglaise and shirting stripe on the Classic Leather, satin spots and stripes on the Freestyle Hi, pink quilting and velvet on the Princess, and patent leather on the Workout FVS. Good luck choosing just one pair.
We hooked up with London-based multimedia artist Ash Appadu to give the collection a test run. As a multi-disciplinary student of visual art and design, Ash has an eye for interesting sneakers. She wears the Classic Leather with some still-going-strong gingham and an oversized hoodie for slouchy steez. For another take, the velvet texture on the Princess works well with washed-out cut-off jeans (illustrations her own) and a '70s-style tee.
