EVERYTHING ON OUR RADAR THIS MONTH
By Steven Potter, August 5, 2024
August is going to be a great month for new stuff – not just in the world of looks, either. Below you’ll find all the things we’re looking forward to the most – from A$AP Rocky’s newest album, the instantly viral UK version of the jaw-dropping Love Is Blind, and a new flick from twist-extraordinaire, M. Night Shyamalan, starring Josh Hartnett. Buckle up, it’s going to be great.

AUGUST 7 – LOVE IS BLIND: UK
Yep, the radical dating show where contestants spend time getting to know each other without actually seeing each other is heading overseas and hitting UK shores. Whether you’re into it for the think-pieces about breaking traditional dating methods and the over-reliance society has on appearance, or you just love the cringe-worthy reactions to the final reveals, we’re already saying yes because this is reality TV gold.

AUGUST 9 – TRAP
When it comes to suspenseful twists, no one does it quite like M. Night Shyamalan. Trap is the director’s latest offering following classics such as The Sixth Sense, Signs, Glass and other mind-bending flicks. Trap follows a father (Josh Hartnett) and daughter (Ariel Donoghue) as they attend their first concert together. Although, with this being Shyamalan, it doesn’t take long before an elevated security presence and the threat of a killer trapped inside the venue sends the crowd into a paranoia-fuelled frenzy…

AUGUST 23 – SABRINA CARPENTER'S NEW ALBUM: SHORT N' SWEET
Talk about owning the dialogue. After featuring tweets in her album’s marketing campaign that mention her 4’11” height, Sabrina Carpenter is now dropping Short n’ Sweet (genius), and we can’t wait. If Espresso has been soundtracking your sun-drenched plans as much as ours, we’re certain the rest of the album will deliver the same punchy, synth-led pop to see out the last of the summer months.

AUGUST 30 – A$AP ROCKY'S ALBUM, DON'T BE DUMB, DROPS
It’s been six years since A$AP’s last studio album, so expectations are huge for his latest offering and with guests including Tyler, The Creator and Pharrell alongside more unexpected collabs in the form of Damon Albarn and even Morrissey, all the ingredients are present for what could be one of the albums of the year. Has the coolest dad in the game still got it? Undoubtably.
