#1: CHOOSE LOAFERS

Make like @fadzsf and add a pair of loafers to instantly elevate an off-duty look. Don't worry if the rest of the 'fit isn't preppy though – teaming it with loafers is a sure-fire way to get there with high-low charm.

#2: OVER-THE-SHOULDER STYLE

When we talk about wearing vs *styling*, this is what we mean. A jumper round the shoulders à la @chrisgmcrawford levels up an olive-green set to a perfect 10. The set itself feels casual because of the relaxed fit and trainer combo, but adding the jumper brings something preppy and breaks up the monochrome. Plus, the burgundy cap? Genius.

#3: ADD A BELT

Accessorising is underrated. This all-black ‘fit is given an upgrade with a simple leather belt c/o @zayedblv. But why is it so good? Leather-on-leather makes things feel cohesive and a belt is an easy way to make a look a little preppier while still leaning towards casual-cool.

#4: A HIGH-LOW FORMULA

@adamfogartyy knows how to work the 9-5 and 5-9 shifts. The key? High-low dressing. Mixing tailoring with more casual pieces – like this shirt-and-trouser combo with a utility-style leather jacket – gives your look a whole lot more flexibility. Finish the 'fit with loafers and a fresh pair of shades, and it won't matter what time of day it is.

#5: A TOUCH OF SUEDE

This isn’t your typical preppy recipe, but switching up the texture to the season's go-to suede is a great way to keep things fresh. @peppa_melf opted for a suede collared jacket with structured indigo denim, and the preppy charm comes through in the suit-like silhouette and classic loafers.
