A$AP ROCKY IS THE MASTER OF RELAXED TAILORING, HERE'S WHY

A$AP Rocky is a lot of things: a rapper, husband, father, bag collector, Met Gala 2025 co-chair, and certified Fashion Killa. Everyone is talking about Rocky’s substantial bag collection (us included), but let’s not sleep on his impeccable personal style – from Babushka scarves to classic streetwear, it’s nothing if not *versatile*. So, when he stepped out in New York earlier this month serving in layering AND tailoring, we paid attention. And we took notes, too – scroll for a lesson in transitional style.

You might remember when A$AP was spotted in an oversized blazer and jeans, carrying a huge pink Bottega Andiamo tote on his birthday last year. Well, for his 35th birthday this year, he opted for a monochromatic look with a striped shirt, two-piece suit and tailored check coat. As you can see, the Harlem-born rapper *still* loves oversized tailoring.

Recreate the look with pieces in a complementary colour palette—that way, stripes and checks won't clash too much. Or keep it simple with a minimal coat and no checks. And for an extra-clean finish, create symmetry with the layered lapels.

It would be rude not to mention *that* bag. Of course, another Bottega, but it’s an off-the-runway special – the pop of colour (plus the shades) gives that elevated aesthetic we love him for. If something subtler is more your bag (literally), we've got you covered.
