COME WITH US TO THE ADIDAS RUN CLUB IN PARIS
By Steven Potter, 29 August 2024
Whether you're training for a marathon, enjoy a casual 5KM in the park, or have never run in your life, there's no avoiding how popular running has become. It can be a very solitary activity, and while time to be active by yourself has many benefits, the rise of run clubs is making the solo sport much more sociable. To coincide with the release of the adidas Running UltraBoost 5 trainers, we attended the brand's Paris run club before holding our own at ASOS HQ to meet new friends and put the brand’s new runners to the ultimate test.
THE SNEAKS
First thing's first, let's check out the wheels. The newest member of the UltraBoost team is the lightest, most durable and most-cushioned version yet – utilising the brand's iconic BOOST midsole for big-time energy return. The UltraBoost 5 is a neutral running trainer, boasting a moulded heel for extra support, and Torsion System tech which adds flexibility to the forefoot and rear foot to allow the feet to roll smoothly during runs – nice. Scroll to find out the verdict from our ASOSers.

THE MAIN EVENT
Ask most runners about their favourite routes and one of the most common answers is: scenery. And it doesn't get much more scenic than Paris, which saw our club embarking on runs to some of the city’s most iconic locations. As well as the Eiffel Tower, we also logged the KMs down the River Seine and past the Place de la Concorde. Not all in one go, of course – the social runs were designed to be shorter so everyone could get to know each other and have a great time working out.

THE POST-RUN FUN
After the runs, we got to relax with some well-earned food and drink, and also customise the adidas Running gear everyone received for signing up. Running club merch is a big thing, so you can trust adidas to deliver the goods with in-house screen-printing featuring a choice of reworked logos.

THE ASOS | ADIDAS RUN CLUB
The next event took place at our very own ASOS HQ. While traversing around the iconic borough of Camden, and through the picturesque Regents Park, we got confirmation from our ASOS Insiders and other staff who attended that the UltraBoost 5 is ‘the most comfortable running trainer I’ve ever run in’ – not surprising given all that next-level tech.
