RED CARPET REPORT: MET GALA EDITION
By Style Feed Staff, 6 May 2024
When it comes to red carpets, the Met Gala is the final boss. Every year on the first Monday in May (of course), the tippity-top of the A-list descend upon New York's Upper East Side for a swanky soirée benefitting the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. For 2024, the theme is The Garden of Time (inspired by JG Ballard's 1962 novel of the same name) and toasts the new 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion' exhibition. The vibes of the evening? Florals, archival pieces and jaw-dropping looks we can't stop swooning over (from the comfort of our beds). Keep reading to see who stole the show...

DONALD GLOVER IN SAINT LAURENT
Oversized and vintage-inspired slouchy silhouettes reign supreme in the menswear world, and Donald nailed the assignment.

BARRY KEOGHAN IN BURBERRY
The dress code called for a retro, garden-adjacent aesthetic and the Saltburn star's velvet jacket, waistcoat and trousers combo was a win.

OMAR APOLLO IN LOEWE
With floral embellishments on the lapel and a subtle sequin situation, we won't forget Omar's first Met.

JOSH O'CONNOR IN LOEWE
Taking a break from tenniscore, the Challengers sensation channeled a true English countryside icon. Do we all need floral gardening clogs? Probably...

ALTON MASON IN THOM BROWNE
Alton is known for pulling a sleek red carpet stunt, and this suit left us feeling the need for tweed. After all, its classic nature is totally on theme.

CHRIS HEMSWORTH IN TOM FORD
While the quintessential superhero wasn't exactly giving garden, this beige three-piece suit instantly offered a dose of wedding season inspiration.

LIL NAS X IN LUAR
At this point, Lil Nas X's Met Gala looks are *legendary*. This time around, his 'fit was inspired by 'blooming silhouettes' and boasted 50,000 Swarovski crystals.

BAD BUNNY IN MAISON MARGIELA
As one of the night's co-chairs, Bad Bunny delivered in an avant garde, storybook-themed ensemble. His best accessory? The national flower of Puerto Rico (known as a Flor de Maga), which represents resilience.
