INSPIRATION AND ADVICE

WHY WE'RE TAKING STYLE INSPO FROM NETFLIX'S THE GENTLEMEN

Guy Ritchie's new series, The Gentlemen, is out on Netflix (our ASOS Insiders even went down to the premiere 🎫) and while the show's main appeal is seeing what happens when British aristocracy is unwillingly thrown into the world of organised crime, there's also another reason to watch: the outfits. Here's why we're looking to the main characters for style lessons.

THE INSPO

With a show about the upper class clashing with the criminal underworld, you get a snapshot of the fashion choices made by people living on the extreme fringes of British society. From three-piece heritage suits to tracksuits and caps, there's a look in the show for all aesthetics.

EDDIE HORNIMAN (PLAYED BY THEO JAMES)

The show's main character tackles various predicaments with a huge slice of country-cool aplomb. When he's not representing in wax jackets and cord shirts, Eddie can be found in heritage tailoring, checks and three-piece suits. Looks like you don’t have to be a duke to dress like one after all.

GEOFF SEACOMBE (PLAYED BY VINNIE JONES)

As gamekeeper of Holstead Manor (home of the Horniman family), Geoff is a snapshot into what blokecore would look like if it was combined with English-countryside prep. The key to this aesthetic is the lowkey styling. Pair a flat cap and Harrington jacket – a quintessentially British duo – with your fave jeans.

TOMMY DIXON (PLAYED BY PETER SERAFINOWICZ)

The Liverpudlian butcher likes to keep things casual when he's chopping up meat from various... sources, shall we say? He loves a two-piece by Sergio Tacchini, so in the spirit of retro sportswear, we'd choose this polo shirt and velour joggers. We suggest avoiding any meat preparation in a look this fresh, though.

JETHRO (PLAYED BY JOSH FINAN)

When he's not counting ransom money for Tommy, Jethro loves to flex retro tracksuits. The formula for these laidback looks is pretty simple and the execution consistently delivers – track tops, caps and jeans always ooze off-duty cool.
