THE SNEAKERHEADIT: RUDDY TROBRILLANT
By Annabelle Oayda, 26 March 2018
Meet Ruddy Trobrillant (AKA @asos_ruddy), our newest ASOS Insider for France, who brings with him a big love of sneakers – and an even bigger smile. His colourful fusion of skate style and street brands, plus a whole lot of travel snaps, has got us hooked on this guy's 'gram.

To celebrate Nike Air Max Day, Ruddy talked us through his favourite silhouettes from the Swoosh available right now on ASOS. Check his top five picks below…

Nike Pantheos
'These trainers are adapted from a 90s Nike shoe and I love vintage clothes and retro colours. I am always wearing a pair of sneakers with a pop of colour, so I love the big neon pink Swoosh. 1993 is also my birth year so that's another reason they're one of my favourites.'

Nike Air Huarache
'There are so many details on the sole and different materials on the upper – mesh, leather, the plastic heel strap and neoprene – which I really like. The original Purple Punch colourway was amazing, but this triple white version is your day-and-night shoe. They came out in 1991 and had already thought about the sock design, which you see a lot of today – they're like an extension of your feet!'

Nike Air Max 270
'The upper of this shoe is really soft and comfy, but it's the bold pink heel bag that really does it for me. More recently, Nike has been starting to hide the airbag so I really like that you can appreciate the Air technology. Also, you can see the evolution of the silhouette between this model and older Air Max designs. I also like the water-resistant black strip on the toe cap.'

Nike Air Vortex
'It's a vintage shoe that will go with pretty much anything. This trainer is really important to me because the first ever Nike shoe was the waffle runner for track running, which then became a lifestyle shoe, and the Vortex's journey is the same. I like that there are a few different materials on the upper, especially the nylon as it's really light. The shade of blue is really interesting, too – I'd wear these with washed-out jeans.'

Nike Air Force 1 '07
'The Air Force 1 was the first pair of sneakers I had when I was young, so they've always been a favourite silhouette for me. When you wear them, you feel like you run the streets and can do anything. They're really comfy and soft with not too many details – that's the Air Force 1 charm. For me, the Air Force 1 is the best shoe in the world.'
