THE BEST SUNGLASSES FOR YOUR FACE SHAPE
By John Agnew, 2 June 2017
Some things are a match made in heaven. Sunglasses and your face, for one – whatever shape it happens to be. Just observe these five face types, match one to your own and grab yourself a flawless pair of shades.

Square face
You’ve got a solid jaw, with a forehead that’s equal to your cheekbones. They’re strong features that work well with softer, rounded or Aviator-shaped sunglasses. Nothing too graphic or angled, and you'll be in the clear.

Round face
You’re a perfect circle (congrats), but be warned – you don’t want a case of roundness overload (basically, circular shades on a round face). But anything else – angular, square – and you’re golden.

Triangle face
Both triangular and diamond-shaped faces are generally characterised by a square-ish upper half and a more angular bottom, with a broad jawline that tapers sharply into the chin. You want something to accentuate your top half, like thicker square or brow-line shades.

Oval face
You’re more vertical than horizontal, with the widest point of your face sitting at the cheekbones. It’s a pretty versatile face shape – you can rock rounded or angular frames with ease. Your only watch-out? Don’t go too big or too small, as it'll create an unequal look.

Heart face
A little heart-to-heart: compact shades are your friend. Why? Your forehead and browline are a similar width, while your cheekbones and jawline slowly contour inward to meet at a sharp, prominent chin. It’s a compact shape that suits smaller frames to a tee.
